Spray Dried Dispersion
Spray-dried dispersion (SDD) is a formulation technique used to enhance the solubility and bioavailability of poorly water-soluble drugs. It involves the formation of amorphous solid dispersions (ASDs) by dissolving the drug and a polymeric carrier in a solvent, followed by atomization of the solution into fine droplets using a spray nozzle and subsequent drying to remove the solvent.

Hot Melt Extrusion
Hot melt extrusion (HME) is an innovative technology for the preparation of ASDs to enhance the bioavailability of insoluble drugs. It involves the continuous mixing, melting, and shaping of a blend of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and excipients at elevated temperatures to form a homogeneous melt, which is then extruded through a die to produce the desired dosage form. Hot melt extrusion has the advantages of continuity, high production efficiency, low energy consumption and environmental friendliness, which can meet the preparation needs of many kinds of drug formulations.
